The R-XVI Richmond School District’s future Early Childhood Center (ECC) project will break ground in December, stated Hollis and Miller Architect representative Cam Hinton at the latest school board meeting. Dear Elementary Principal Dr. Marlaine Boyd said the school district is taking a more traditional approach to building the Early Childhood Center of Spartan’s dreams. After releasing McGown Gordon from the project in August, the school district contracted with a general contractor and will be breaking ground this December, according to Boyd. “Our new general contractor, CB Construction Services, LLC of Kansas was chosen through the hard bid process – a more traditional route,” said Boyd. “During that process, Hollis and Miller suggested we look at any cost savings that we could in case the general contractor came back with high numbers as well due to construction fees increasing.” She said there were “very small changes” to the overall design but would not affect the style or…
