Disc golf course opens to public

Spartan Ridge at Southview Park – a Richmond City and Richmond School Board (RSB) project - is open to the public. A ribbon-cutting ceremony occurred last week with the Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce along with Richmond City staffers and community members. The course utilizes over 17 acres of city/school district property. The course design is nearly two miles long with some challenging holes. The baskets for the holes were installed after the concrete pads were poured. The tee pads for throwing are 12 feet long, four feet wide, and four inches thick. Former Richmond City Economic Development Director James Gorham, Richmond resident Dr. Ryan Lauck, RSB Director of Operation Jeff Southwick, District Athletic Director Josh McCray, and Dynamic Discs Designer Erin Mc- Cabe finalized the 18-hole disc golf course layout. “Thank you to everyone for coming.
