Christian Fellowship Ministry helps bring children Christmas
RICHMOND – Christian Fellowship Ministry is working with Samaritan’s Purse on Operation Christmas Child, a holiday donation operation, ministry member Libby Sturm stated.
“Our church packs shoeboxes for them and we send the shoeboxes to Samaritan’s Purse and they send them around the world,” Sturm stated. “Inside the shoeboxes are … hygiene items, school supplies, toys, clothing, games, etc.”
Samaritan’s Purse is a national, evangelical Christian, humanitarian aid organization that provides Operation Christmas Child. All shoeboxes are sent to processing centers around the country. Ten members of Christian Fellowship Ministry will travel to the Aurora, Illinois, processing center to help prepare the boxes for distribution around the world.
The purpose of the operation is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need, Sturm stated.
“Our goal as a church is to pack 400 shoeboxes,” Sturm stated.
