Cayden Morris will soon take his wrestling skills to Kansas. The Richmond senior has signed to study and grapple for Neosho County Community College in Chanute. As the Richmond News noted in its April 26 issue, a signing ceremony was held recently in the Richmond High School gym to commemorate Morris’ decision. “They just had everything that I was trying to find in a college,” Morris said shortly after signing his letter of intent. What Morris was seeking in a college was a place where he could study welding and wrestle, he said. Its location was a selling point, too. “It’s not too far away from home,” Morris said. According to Google, Chanute is 164.6 miles from Richmond. Morris’ decision is “pretty exciting,” Richmond wrestling coach Cody Hogan said during a short speech before the signing.
