Kaylee Pugh had to make a decision about her life after high school – run track or play softball in college. She chose softball. As the Richmond News reported May 3, Pugh has signed her letter of intent to play for Rockhurst University, a Kansas City-based, NCAA Division II school. She considered track offers from William Jewell College and William Woods University; and softball offers from Rockhurst, William Woods and Crowder College, a Neosho-based junior college, she said shortly before her May 1 signing ceremony in the Richmond High School gym. Pugh opted for softball because of her experience playing it. She started when she was in elementary school with T-ball, she recalled. She has moved on to play for Top Gun National, a traveling competitive club. In addition, softball is Pugh’s favorite sport.
