’Dawgs test themselves at larger meets

Hardin-Central track coach Andrew Watson and his Bulldogs want to push themselves this season. “We’ve added some meets to our schedule this year,” Watson said March 14. “(We’re) kind of trying to get away from some of the smaller meets and ramp up the competition.” For their season opener, the Carrollton Early Bird, the Bulldogs competed against schools of comparable size. Powered by wins in four events, including three relays, Hardin-Central won the boys portion with 131 points – 22 points ahead of runner-up Tina-Avalon. Kelsey Nolker and Ester Kincaid were the highest finishers for the girls. Nolker and Kincaid placed second in the 100-meter high hurdles and 300 low hurdles, respectively.
