Upcoming workshops put focus on prevention, youth well-being
Editor’s note: This is the second of a two-part story about Beacon Mental Health and Parent Up’s Fall Workshop Series for Parents and Caregivers. Part one covered the series’ purpose, accessibility and September workshops, while part two explores workshops planned for October and November.
From the pressures facing student-athletes to the changing risks surrounding substance use, four upcoming workshops will provide parents and caregivers with tools for supporting youth through a range of challenges.
The workshops are part of Beacon Mental Health and Parent Up’s Fall Workshop Series for Parents and Caregivers, which offers free educational sessions focused on strengthening connections with youth, supporting mental health and preventing substance use.
The series began Sept. 15 and continues through Nov. 17, with topics ranging from building meaningful connections and resilience to supporting student-athletes, understanding brain development and navigating substance-use prevention.
