Getting to know Adams, Bonuchi is worthwhile

I find myself wanting to learn more about two area coaching legends – one who passed recently, one who passed more than a decade ago.

Victor “Vic” Edward Bonuchi

is the coach who recently passed. As I’ve mentioned in at least one previous column, I talked to him a few times during the 1990s as a correspondent for The Examiner, a Jackson County-based daily newspaper. The first time was after Bonuchi and his Tigers had pasted Raytown South at Roosevelt Field.And if memory serves, I talked to him a few times when baseball programs in The Examiner’s coverage area played at Excelsior Springs. I can’t remember who Excelsior Springs played that day – or those days.
