Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) varsity 8-man football teammates Sam Barnett and Brody Fifer are confident that a week off from team activities won’t affect them or their fellow Aggies.

After closing their offseason training with team camp sessions July 27-30 and then scrimmaging July 31 at Albany, the Aggies are in a dead period to start August. They’ll resume training Aug. 10 – the first day of preseason practices for fall sports programs governed by the Missouri State High School Activities Association.

“I think we’ll hit the ground running as soon as we get back, and most people will stay active enough that we’re not going to get out of shape or anything,” Barnett said after team camp July 30 at Hardin-Central.

“This group does a good job of not getting lazy,” Fifer said. “And so, I feel like whenever we come back after a week, we can go jump right into it.”

Aggies coach Andrew Watson agreed. “We’ve learned pretty quickly this summer that this isn’t a group that we really have to stay on…
