County details new courthouse entry procedures
Security procedures are changing at the Ray County Courthouse as county officials implement new building access procedures requiring visitors and employees to pass through a security checkpoint near the west entrance. As work continues on the courthouse security project approved earlier this year, Ray County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant David Francken updated commissioners on ways the new building access system will operate once installation is complete. The project includes a single public entrance, electronic employee access and new procedures intended to improve security for employees and visitors.
Francken explained the courthouse will operate with a single public entrance on the west side of the building, where all visitors and employees will enter through the security checkpoint before accessing the courthouse.
