DANE CORDES

Dane Christian Cordes, 26, of Richmond passed away June 14, 2026, in Butler. Dane was born Aug. 20, 1999, in Michigan. He lived life with a spirit of adventure, embracing every opportunity with enthusiasm and courage, and a smile that could light up any room. Those who knew Dane will remember his spontaneous nature; his infectious energy; and the joy he brought to family, friends and everyone who was fortunate enough to cross his path.

Dane was the proud owner of WeCareTreeCare, where his dedication, strong work ethic and commitment to serving others were evident every day.

He was a devoted husband, and above all, an extraordinary father who cherished every moment with his two sons.

Dane is survived by his loving wife, Natalie Sickle; beloved sons, Atlas Cordes and Benson Cordes; mother, Amy Koch (Cordes); and father, Ben (Rhonda) Cordes.

Other survivors include his brothers, Henry Cordes (Lainey) and Zach Armstrong; sister, Mary Cordes (Joe); nieces, GraceLynn and KaMeela; and nephew, Gabriel. He also leaves behind many extended family members, loved cousins and friends who will deeply miss his presence.

Dane was preceded in death by his grandpa, Chris Cordes; and aunt, Christy Angel.

Dane had a passion for anything fast and exciting. He loved riding sport bikes, spending time on boats and enjoying water activities.

One of his greatest passions was skydiving, where he found a sense of freedom soaring through the blue skies. His adventurous spirit and love for life inspired those around him to live boldly and embrace every moment.

Though his time on Earth was far too short, Dane’s legacy lives on through the love he shared, the family he adored, the business he built and the countless memories he created.

Dane will be deeply missed, forever loved and always remembered by all whose lives he touched. Ride fast and fly high Dane.

A celebration of Dane’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at the Ray County Lake.

Donations can be made to Atlas and Benson Cordes in care of Goppert Bank.
