Athletes of the ’80s join ’03 Spartans, others in HOF

As the Richmond News reported June 12, the latest Richmond Spartan Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony gave members of the 2003 varsity football team their flowers, figuratively speaking. Some 1980s student athletes received their flowers, too. Of the seven individuals inducted during the June 6 event – Dan Lanning, Scott Acree, Jim Arnold, Lisa Crowley Halterman, Daniel Renfro, the late coach John Richardson and Daryl Robinson – half were ’80s graduates. Acree, recognized for his achievements in football, basketball, and track and field, graduated in 1988. Crowley Halterman, recognized as a state-qualifying golfer and for setting multiple school records in girls basketball, graduated in 1983. Robinson, recognized primarily for his accomplishments in football and track, graduated in 1984.
