Ray County Sheriff’s Office launches first awards program

Stories of bravery, lifesaving efforts and years of service were recognized during a recent ceremony marking the Ray County Sheriff’s Office’s first formal awards program.
The event marked the first time the department implemented a structured system to formally recognize deputies, staff and community members. The ceremony was held in partnership with Vibbard Christian Union Church.
The program was developed after internal discussions about ways to more formally recognize work across the agency, particularly as responsibilities and expectations have expanded.
