Athletic Director highlights winter sports success, academic honors
Competitive success, strong participation numbers and academic recognition across Richmond programs were highlighted during a winter activities recap at a recent Richmond School Board meeting.
Athletic Director Josh McCray told board members 33 students earned academic all-conference honors during the winter season, an accomplishment he said reflects students balancing multiple commitments while maintaining strong grades.
“I think that just makes it more impressive when you can manage to do multiple things and still maintain the GPA,” stated McCray.
In wrestling, the boys’ program had 32 high school participants and 24 middle school participants. Richmond won the MRVC East conference title, recorded six all-conference first-team selections, two second-team selections and three honorable mention honorees.
