Prep career ends for Quick at districts
KNOB NOSTER – Richmond senior Nolan Quick is finished playing prep boys basketball.
Quick, however, hopes he’s not done playing any form of organized basketball.
“I hope some schools reach out to me – try to get me to play for them,” he said. “That’d be nice.”
Quick’s farewell to Richmond basketball occurred March 5, when he and his fellow Spartans fell to Oak Grove 75-56 in the semifinals of the Class 4 District 14 Tournament, hosted by Knob Noster.
Quick has “meant a lot” to the program, according to sophomore teammate Cale Moyer. Specifically, he’s been an aggressive scorer, Moyer said.
“He’s been a good leader, on and off the court,” Moyer said. “And I think we’ll miss him, for sure.”
For his finale, Quick led all scorers with 29 points. He was one of two Spartans in double figures. Moyer finished with 17 points.
