Community support shines at Christmas Celebration
Richmond’s downtown square filled with parade groups, volunteers and holiday displays as the community gathered for its annual Christmas Celebration and Lighted Parade.
The event demands several months of meticulous planning and organization, engaging a wide range of participants each year.
“This year’s turnout was excellent,” said Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce Director Jayne Taylor.
The day showcased both the scale of the festivities and the planning needed to execute them. According to Smith, the parade featured 36 groups or individuals, while 14 organizations provided treats for attendees. A large holiday raffle was also part of the celebration, with 40 decorated trees, three baskets and two wreaths donated for the occasion.
“This event provides an opportunity for the community to get together for an evening of fun and excitement,” stated Taylor.
