Richmond performer takes stage for cinematic summer concert
A Richmond musician will be among the featured performers when the Grand River Valley Choir and Orchestra presents its 16th season finale, A Night at the Movies.
String bass player Ben Suchman is one of 62 ensemble members participating in the concert.
The event begins at 7 p.m. on June 21, at the Trenton R-IX Performing Arts Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The program features movie-inspired music performed by musicians from 13 Missouri communities including Richmond, Trenton, Cameron, Chillicothe, Gallatin, Jamesport, Ludlow, Milan, Newtown, Pattonsburg, Princeton, St. Joseph and Weatherby.
The Grand River Valley Orchestra will open the concert with selections from “Rocky” Broadway, James Bond Theme, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Mission Impossible” and “An American Symphony”.
The choir will follow with Seize the Day, Down in the River to Pray, Found/ Tonight and Joyful Joyful.
The evening will close with the combined choir and orchestra performing Pure Imagination and Strike Up…
