Trial set, bond modification denied for Lawson man
A Lawson man was denied a request to modify his bond after a Ray County judge set a jury trial in a case alleging multiple child sex crimes.
James M. Erskin, 45, has been charged with 12 felonies, including enticement or attempted enticement of a child, actor 21 years of age or older and child less than 15 years of age; four counts of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy, deviate sexual intercourse, person less than 12 years of age; first-degree statutory rape or attempted statutory rape, person less than 12 years of age; tamper or attempt to tamper with a victim in a felony prosecution; and five counts of incest.
Erskin’s bond had previously been set at $50,000, with conditions including electronic monitoring, no contact with anyone under 18 years old, no possession of firearms or weapons and required supervision through Missouri Supervision Solutions.
