School district encourages teacher appreciation
With Teacher Appreciation Week starting Monday, May 6, the Richmond R-XVI School District is encouraging the community to take a moment to reflect on teachers’ importance and find meaningful ways to show gratitude.
According to Assistant Superintendent Dr. Trey Cavanah, the annual celebration provides a valuable opportunity to recognize the impact educators have not only in classrooms but throughout the broader community.
“The impact that teachers have on students, families and the community cannot be overstated,” said Cavanah. “Oftentimes educators, especially teachers, influence the growth of a student beyond the walls of a classroom. This week is a chance to say ‘thank you’ to one of our overworked, overburdened and underpaid professions.”
While many educators enter the field driven by a desire to serve and inspire rather than to seek praise, recognition can still make a meaningful difference.
