MoDot seeks feedback for Lawson intersection improvements

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking public feedback following a public meeting held on March 27 to discuss proposed improvements at the intersection of Missouri Route D and U.S. Route 69 in Lawson. Residents and stakeholders now have the opportunity to share opinions on the project and help shape the future of Missouri’s transportation priorities. MoDOT hosted the meeting in an open house format at Lawson City Hall to present two conceptual design options aimed at addressing increased traffic volumes and improving safety at the intersection. According to MoDOT, congestion during peak travel periods and limited sight distance on U.S. Route 69 just south of the intersection are driving the need for improvements. Two alternatives were presented during the meeting: a signalized four-way intersection with a cost estimate of $2.7 million and a single- lane roundabout estimated at $2.8 million.
