Mobile mammogram screening returns to Orrick
Women in the Orrick community will once again have access to life-saving breast cancer screenings as Diagnostic Imaging Centers, P.A. brings its mobile mammography unit to Orrick High School from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 11.
The mobile unit, a fully equipped medical coach, will provide screening mammograms in the high school parking lot, offering a critical early detection tool to school staff and the general public.
The Orrick School District has partnered with Diagnostic Imaging since 2016 to provide a location for the mobile screenings. While the district is not involved in operating or scheduling appointments, it plays a key role in spreading awareness, distributing flyers to staff, and posting event details in public spaces.
“This service increases awareness and helps improve public health,” said Orrick School District Nurse Michelle Krier, LPN. “We hope to send a message that preventative care is key. Early detection through mammograms leads to earlier diagnoses, less…
