Wilton reflects on decades of inspiring students
As the academic year winds down, the halls of Richmond High School reverberate with a mixture of excitement and nostalgia. This year marks the retirement of Kim Wilton, a high school mathematics teacher whose impact on her students and the community has spanned nearly three decades. For many, this is a moment to reflect not just on a career, but on a legacy.
Wilton began her teaching journey inspired by her college mathematics professor, Dr. Charles Edward Leslie.
“It was his passion for the subject that sparked something in me,” said Wilton. “I knew I wanted to share that same enthusiasm with my students.”
Over the years, she has taught various math courses, including algebra 1 and 2, geometry and consumer math. Each student who came through her classroom doors was not just a number but a unique individual deserving of attention and care.
