Two school records fell when Hardin-Central competed in Class 1 state track and field competition May 17-18 at Jefferson City High School. By winning the boys 400-meter relay in 44.65 seconds, the foursome of Kaden McGinnis, Kalel Bowman, Denver Douglas and Brody Fifer broke the school record. It was the third straight meet for the Bulldogs to break the record and fifth this season, according to Hardin-Central coach Andrew Watson. In addition, McGinnis, Bowman, William Curtis and Fifer broke the school record in the 800 relay when they won that race in 1:31.52. The old record was set in 2015, Watson stated. “What these five boys did this season was very special,” Watson commented Sunday via email. “We knew early in the season we had potential to get on the podium in these races.
