RICHMOND – A talk after the Spartans’ 47-23 Feb. 8 road loss to Holden in varsity girls basketball helped motivate them to romp past Lexington twice in two nights: 52-23 Feb. 10 at Lexington and 49-22 Feb. 11 at home. “Not that we didn’t play hard, because we did. We just didn’t shoot the ball very well and Holden put it on us pretty good,” Richmond coach Chad Snyder said after the second Lexington win. “Took a day to just kind of talk, and I really thought our mentality … at practice and then heading into the game Thursday night against Lexington was good.
