’Cats, ’Dawgs prep for district hoops
TINA – The postseason is about to get underway for four area varsity basketball teams.
The Hardin-Central boys and girls, and the Orrick boys and girls will play in the Class 1 District 13 Tournament, slated to get underway Saturday at Tina-Avalon. Here is a look at all four teams as they prepare to enter the single-elimination tournament…
HARDIN-CENTRAL BOYS
Hardin-Central is seeded first and has a first-round bye. The Bulldogs will face the winner of Saturday’s Orrick-Norborne meeting at 6 p.m. Feb. 23, with the winner to play at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 25 for the district title.
It is Hardin-Central’s second appearance at a tournament hosted by Tina-Avalon in roughly two weeks. The boys finished second there at the Carroll-Livingston Activities Association Tournament. Hardin-Central opened that tournament by downing Tina-Avalon 51-43 Feb. 8. On Feb. 10, the Bulldogs cruised past Braymer 55-34 in the semifinals, led by 20 points from senior Mason Freece.
