2021 Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast Oct. 14 at 1st Baptist Church
RICHMOND – Government, religious, civic leaders and residents will gather for the 2021 Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast to pray for the community and nation.
The event starts with breakfast at 6:45 a.m. Oct. 14 in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church, 306 W. Main St., Richmond.
This year’s keynote speaker is Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft. He has served in the position since being elected in 2016.
Mayor Mike Wright has worked with the Richmond Ministerial Alliance to organize this event to encourage the community “to gather and reaffirm spiritual values upon which this nation was founded,” event information states.
The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is designed after the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, first held by President Eisenhower in 1953.
