Health staff says discussing suicide life-saving measure

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – During September, National Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month, Excelsior Springs Hospital’s Senior Life Solutions is working to raise awareness and educate the community on risk factors and warning signs. “Even though it may be uncomfortable to do so, suicide needs to be talked about. Now more than ever, it’s vital that we speak up and remind each other that we aren’t alone. The more we talk about suicide, the more we can reduce the stigma, which could ultimately safe lives,” Senior Life Solutions Program Director Lindsey Hash said. “Suicide is preventable, and we can all be a part of that prevention.
