Woodruff finds himself behind bars again
A 68-year-old Wood Heights man who was already facing felony rape and possession charges has been arrested again, this time for allegedly running after two people while holding a machete and then barricading himself inside his home.
This arrest marks the third case against James Wayne Woodruff Sr.
On the morning of July
11, Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers received the call about Woodruff’s latest actions.
“On my way to the scene, I was attempting contact by phone to provide negotiations. Upon my arrival, deputies were on the scene and were able to get Woodruff outside,” said Childers. “Two witnesses said Woodruff chased them with a knife of some sort. Deputies found the alleged machete on the coffee table inside his home, which was taken as evidence.”
Woodruff was arrested and charged with five felonies: two counts of assault first-degree or attempt, two counts of armed criminal action and one of unlawful use of a weapon.
