Several local officials took the oath of office during a recent swearing-in ceremony at Ray County Courthouse. Presiding Commissioner Billy Gaines was sworn in along with others including County Clerk Heather Graff Maulsby, Circuit Clerk Michelle Woods, Recorder of Deeds Rhonda Kinnison, Treasurer Melissa Pulliam-Holloway, Prosecuting Attorney Camille Johnston, Collector of Revenue Julie Chowning and Associate Circuit Judge Lori J. Baskins. “I am excited to be able to serve my community and be able to effect change for a better tomorrow in our county,” said Gaines. Having a focus at the beginning of the year can help the bigger picture of multiple goals one would like to complete. “My main focus is to ensure the taxpayers’ dollars are used as it was voted for.
