A former Ray County Sheriff was charged with a misdemeanor after he allegedly interfered with the Jan. 25 arrest of Reny Reis, 31, at Branded Steakhouse in Richmond. Former sheriff Garry Bush, 67, was charged with interfering with an arrest, a class A misdemeanor by Platte County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Zahnd, who was appointed to serve as special prosecuting attorney. “The charge was filed on March 19, following review of police reports, surveillance video and body camera footage from Richmond police officers,” said Zahnd. Richmond Police Corporals Derek Gardner and Cody Davis responded to a report of a subject acting erratically while in possession of a firearm at the restaurant. According to the probable cause statement, “ Reis used his right elbow in a rearward thrust to shove me back, as he pulled away. Reis’ elbow made contact with the right side of my chest. Cpl.
