Assault charges filed against former Ray County deputy

A trial date has been set for a man who is facing multiple felony charges in Ray County. Former Ray County Deputy Dillon Myers- Hazzard, 28, is charged with three felonies and two misdemeanors, including two counts of third-degree assault; third-degree domestic assault; third-degree kidnapping; and resisting or interfering with an arrest, detention or stop. Myers-Hazzard recently appeared before 8th Judicial Circuit Judge Kevin L.Walden where Myers-Hazzard pled not guilty. A three-day trial has been set for Myers-Hazzard for Jan. 22-24, 2025, as requested by Robert Lon Walden-Chastain, Hazzard’s public defender. The charges and trial are the result of an Aug. 16, 2021, physical disturbance incident on Wood Oak Avenue in Richmond. Ray County Sgt. Ray Orth and Deputy Scott Burdg responded to the incident.
