Wrisinger, Gregory eye return trips to state in girls golf
This fall, Kennedy Wrisinger hopes to complete a hat trick in varsity girls golf: She hopes to qualify for state competition for the third time.
The Richmond senior qualified for state in Class 1 in 2020 and 2021. In 2020, she finished in a three-way tie for 38th. Last season, Wrisinger finished 46th.
“If I do make it to state, I would like to place there – at least get (in) … the top 25 and not just get there, like the past two years,” she said Aug. 15 at Shirkey Golf Course in Richmond.

“I have always struggled there, and since it’s my last year, I have to focus on that the most,” Wrisinger said.
Wrisinger is one of two Richmond returning state qualifiers. Zalie Gregory, also a senior, is the other. She finished 81st in 2021. Like Wrisinger, she’s eyeing a return trip.
“I want to have fun and just … enjoy the season, but at the end of the day, it’s all about working hard…
