HIGGINSVILLE – When Tristan McCoy snagged the rebound that capped Richmond’s 49-48 double-overtime win over Oak Grove Dec. 9 in the boys third-place game at the Husker Classic, he admittedly breathed a sigh of relief. “I was kind of glad it was over,” McCoy said minutes after the victory in the east gym on the Lafayette County C-1 campus. McCoy wasn’t the only one. “The players are the … (ones) doing the job, but … just the anxiety and the anxiousness of every play definitely wears you out,” Richmond coach Kevin Jermain said. McCoy’s rebound was in keeping with a change Jermain saw in his team late in the ballgame. “(If) you remember the third quarter, rebounds were not coming our way very well, and that’s one thing that we really changed into the fourth quarter and overtime is, we got a lot of good rebounds,” he said. “And that’s probably what won the game for us.” The rebound also helped the Spartans avenge a seasonopening overtime loss to the Panthers in November at Oak Grove…
