Vehicular woe produces longing for train travel

The Greater Kansas City area needs more affordable mass transportation options, especially in its smaller towns and counties. And especially for sportsrelated events. I’ve felt that way for years. But a recent sports-related incident and some reflections on my travels have spurred me to comment on it. On March 1, I covered the Class 2 District 4 Tournament for boys wrestling in Excelsior Springs for the Richmond News and its sister newspaper, The Excelsior Springs Standard. En route, the diagnostic trouble codes or “check engine” light started flashing.
