Spartans win Carrollton triangular
CARROLLTON – Richmond senior Timmy Hamilton led the Spartans to victory in varsity boys golf Tuesday.
Hamilton, who has signed to play men’s golf at William Jewell College in Liberty, shot a 41 (+5) for his nine-hole, par-36 round to help Richmond take first in a triangular with Carrollton and Knob Noster at Carrollton Country Club. He finished as the event medalist and helped the Spartans shoot a 177.
Aiden Bowman shot a 44 (+8), followed by a 45 (+9) from Ben Dana and a 47 (+11) from Reece Wrisinger to complete Richmond’s team score. Marcus Doss also represented the Spartans in varsity competition, finishing with a 49 (+13).
Knob Noster finished second with a 190, led by a 45 from Landon Francis. Carrollton shot a 221, led by a 53 (+17) from Brice Bingham.
Knob Noster won the junior varsity competition by shooting a 214, followed by Carrollton with a 258. Richmond did not have a complete JV team. Jake Knutter was Richmond’s top JV finisher with a 44.
