Spartans permit no offensive points for Holden Eagles
HOLDEN – Holden’s defense detained but did not stop Richmond’s high-powered offense through much of the first half in a game that ended as a 38-2 Oct. 8 road win for the Spartans.
Richmond senior quarterback Keyshaun Elliott scored on a keeper on third-and-goal from the Holden 4-yard line with 5 minutes, 32 seconds left in the first quarter, and senior running back Evan Vandiver scored on second-and-goal from the 4 with 11:54 left in the second quarter to go up 12-0 – a soft showing for Richmond’s offense.
At that point, it could have gone either way for both teams, Richmond coach Nick Persell said later.

Gogue stepped up, making a few tackles with less than two minutes remaining in the half. On the same set of downs, Gogue continued the pressure, closed in on Holden senior quarterback Aiden Moriarity on fourthand-1, forcing a bad throw.
