When Richmond’s 2022 varsity 11-man football season ended in November, Chris Webb couldn’t wait to put on his uniform again. “(I) just (wanted to) be on the field and get back with the boys – get back to playing football,” he said. On Monday, Webb got to be with his fellow Spartans and wear his football gear again. Or at least some of it. Like his teammates, Webb donned a helmet, practice jersey, shoulder pads, gym shorts and shoes that morning to start Richmond’s first series of team camp sessions. The Spartans held four sessions this week on their practice field on the high school campus. The last one took place Thursday. Webb was among approximately 30-some-odd Spartans who suited up and went through drills and learned position assignments that first day, coach Nick Persell estimated.
