“It’s a tournament I think our team will do … (well) at,” Renfro said Jan. 6.
The Spartans did well enough to win the team title with 200.5 points – 36.5 points ahead of runner-up Brookfield, the same team that had edged Richmond for a team title in December at a dual tournament in Lexington.
Conner Teat, Elijah Sanders and Hayden Happy led Richmond to victory, winning the division titles at 132, 145 and 195 pounds, respectively. The Spartans also got second-place finishes from
Clayton Teat, Declan Cockrum, Aidan Ivison and Larry Penniston.
