With Richmond hosting its final home track and field meet Tuesday, it was decided to honor the seniors in the program in mid-April, rather than near the end of the spring sports season. And so, near the end of Tuesday’s Hoot Middleton Invitational, a Senior Night ceremony was held for the nine seniors in the program – six boys and three girls, including one manager. “I think this is a great group of seniors,” said first-year Richmond varsity track coach David Rash, who also has worked with the seniors as an assistant football coach and/or during their weight training. “They don’t shy away from working hard. They like to train in the weight room, they like to train out on the track. Even more so, … they’re good people. And I think that says a lot – just their character.
