Patient Gogue leads Richmond to victory at Shirkey

Senior Jack Gogue found that a relaxed, steady pace served him well Tuesday during Richmond’s triangular with Lexington and Carrollton at Shirkey Golf Course. Gogue shot a 42 (+6) for his ninehole, par-36 round – his best round this season, according to Richmond golf coach Murray Dennis. In doing so, he finished as the medalist and helped Richmond win the Missouri River Valley Conference-East Division competition. “My drives were pretty good today,” Gogue said. “My putting was pretty good. I was just patient, didn’t rush myself that much. I just had fun, too.” Tempo has been a point of emphasis for the team this season, according to Dennis.
