Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) varsity 8-man football coach Andrew Watson and his Aggies had the momentum at halftime of their Nov. 3 District 4 Tournament meeting with Southwest of Livingston County/Hale/Tina-Avalon. Then, the Southwest co-op recovered an onside kick, drove and scored to start the second half. And then, the Wildcats recovered another onside kick, drove and scored again. Sparked by the back-to-back scoring drives, the Southwest co-op tagged NHC with 22 unanswered second-half points and handed the Aggies a 40-20 seasonending loss. “They do it (onside kicks) pretty much all the time. … We’ve had some … success with recovering those this year,” Watson said. “But unfortunately, tonight, it just wasn’t our night.” Denver Douglas was among the NHC players who knew the onside kicks were coming, too. “I think we got nervous,” said Douglas, a Hardin-Central senior. “I don’t know what happened, to be honest.
