WARRENSBURG – The Spartans are Missouri River Valley Conference East Division Tournament champions again in boys golf. Led by an 85 (+15) by senior Reece Wrisinger, Richmond shot a combined 360 – 16 strokes lower than runner-up Knob Noster – to claim the tournament title Monday at Mules National Golf Club. It is the program’s 12th tournament title in the last 13 seasons, coach Murray Dennis stated Wednesday via email. Dennis also stated the program had won 12 regular-season MRVC East titles in 13 seasons. Wrisinger and three other Spartans placed in the top 10. Seniors Collin Cromley and Aiden Bowman placed fifth and sixth, respectively. Bowman shot an 89 (+19) and Cromley a 90 (+20). Junior Thomas Murphy shot a 96 (+26) to finish 10th. Morgan Battagler was Richmond’s No. 5 golfer, finishing with a 104 (+34).
