EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Another Orrick golf season is finished. The Bearcats ended their season Monday at the Class 1 District 4 Tournament at Excelsior Springs Golf Course. Jacob McElwee, a first-year high schooler, led Orrick by shooting a 126 (+54) for the 18-hole, par-72 competition, finishing in a tie with Princeton’s Noel Schreffler and Kansas City Lutheran’s Noah Walz for 44th among 72 finishers. Jeffrey Singleton, also a first-year high schooler, shot a 158 (+86) to finish 64th. A third Orrick golfer withdrew because of heat-related issues, coach Mitch Comstock stated Tuesday via email. “It was a very tough day for everyone and I was proud of how they played,” Comstock wrote.
