Confident Aggies prepping for another crack at Mustangs
HARDIN – Norborne Hardin-Central varsity 8-man football coach Andrew Watson expects to see more confidence in his Aggies when they face Northwest of Hughesville/Sacred Heart of Sedalia on Friday at Hughesville than they showed when they faced the Mustangs last month.
The Aggies, 3-6, “played … with confidence in all phases of the game” in their 88-40 Oct. 22 road win over Keytesville/Brunswick/Northwestern of Mendon, Watson said. That victory came one week after NHC’s 64-30 loss at Hardin-Central to Northwest/Sacred Heart.
“The energy was good,” Watson said Tuesday after practice at Hardin-Central. “They were flying around, hooping and hollering, making plays. … (When) we play that way, we’re a tough team to beat.”
NHC teammates Kelton Gordon and Kobe Gibson also have seen a spike in the team’s confidence level since the Aggies’ regular-season meeting with the Mustangs.
