Alexander brothers together at NWMSU

RICHMOND – Jordan Alexander is about to join a new football family.

That family includes a member of his biological family.

Alexander, a Richmond senior, signed his letter of intent Tuesday in the Richmond High School gym to play for Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. He is one of four studentathletes – three football, one baseball – who signed letters that morning during a short ceremony originally scheduled for Feb. 2 and postponed because of inclement weather.

As Richmond varsity coach Nick Persell told the crowd before the signing, NWMSU is where older brother Trevon Alexander plays. Trevon Alexander, a 2018 Richmond graduate, transferred to the NCAA Division II program from the University of Northern Iowa, an NCAA Division I FCS program in Cedar Falls. He spent two years at UNI, one of them as a redshirt, NWMSU information states. COVID wiped out the 2020 season.
