Kim Branson
Kim Allen Branson, 74, a resident of Richmond, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, surrounded by his family. Kim was the son of Leroy and Nadine (Robinson) Branson. On June 24, 1988, Kim and Karen Carter were united in marriage. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include his son, Brad (Karla) Branson of Richmond; daughter, Tracy (Chris) Jarvis of Grain Valley; brother, Kirk (Robin Kennedy) Branson of Richmond; and sister, Terri Johnson of Richmond.
His other survivors include six grandchildren, Leroy (Mackenzie) Branson, Grace Branson, Solomon Branson, Jade (Ryan) Morris, Jillian Jarvis and Ean Jarvis; and five great-grandchildren, Ella, Annie, Lane, Ivy and Ruthie. He also is survived by several other family members and friends.
Kim was preceded in death by his parents. Kim dedicated 41 years of service to the Missouri Department of Transportation, where he worked as a building supervisor. In addition to his career, he proudly served his community for 15 years with the local fire department, attaining the rank of captain. During those years, Kim was known for his dedication and willingness to serve, responding to calls whenever he was available and always ready to help those in need.
Above all else, Kim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who cherished time spent with his family. He was a simple man in the best sense of the word and found joy in life’s everyday moments.
He enjoyed listening to music, duck and goose hunting, riding motorcycles and spending quiet time outdoors taking in the beauty of nature. Whether gathered with family, enjoying the outdoors or simply sitting outside, Kim appreciated the simple things and the people he loved most.
The family suggests memorials in his honor be made to Shirkey Hospice. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.
Visitation with memorial services honoring Kim’s life will be held Friday, June 12, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and services to follow at 11. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
