Commissioners handle road, bridge, courthouse business
Ray County commissioners recently approved multiple county business items, including a four-day Road and Bridge work schedule, a new janitorial services agreement and several infrastructure-related invoices.
Four-day road and bridge schedule — Commissioners formally approved a resolution authorizing the adoption of a four-day, 10-hour workweek schedule for the county’s Road and Bridge Department. The signed resolution states the change is intended to improve operational efficiency while reducing travel costs, fuel usage, equipment wear and road mileage accumulation on county vehicles. Commissioners noted the longer workdays could improve continuity on road and bridge projects while helping with employee morale, recruitment and retention.
