Tow rotation sparks heated discussion
Longstanding disagreements over towing rotations, dispatch procedures and response times resurfaced during a Ray County Commission discussion about a proposed towing resolution.
Commissioners recently reviewed the draft resolution after previously hearing concerns from local towing operators about wreck chasing, dispatch procedures and confusion surrounding towing rotations in the county. Officials repeatedly emphasized the document remains a working draft and said additional discussions with Ray County 911, Ray County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies will still be required before any policy is finalized.
Eastern Commissioner Max Hockemeier explained the document distributed during the meeting was intended only for review and discussion purposes as county officials continue working through unresolved questions involving dispatch procedures, permitting and enforcement.
