Rookie minicamp awaits Elliott
Richmond graduate Keyshaun Elliott will continue his quest to make Chicago’s 53-man roster this weekend.
As SI.com and other sources reported, Chicago is staging its rookie minicamp Friday and Saturday at the Halas Hall complex in Lake Forest, Ill. The pro football squad recently selected Elliott as a linebacker in the fifth round of the NFL draft, an annual, multiday event for NFL franchises to select rookie players.
The rookie minicamp is among four sets of team training sessions Chicago has scheduled for May and June. The Bears also have two sets of organized team activities planned – one for May 2729, the other for June 2-4. In addition, a mandatory minicamp is slated for June 9-11.
From there, the Bears will hold preseason training camp. The opening date of training camp hasn’t been released. Times and dates for Chicago’s preseason and regular-season games also are pending.
