Coronavirus cases climbing
RICHMOND – The number of coronavirus cases stands at 28 in Ray County, but the county has avoided recording any deaths.
The state and nation have been less fortunate.
Some area restaurants have reopened, with social distancing, and others remain closed to customers, except for carryouts and deliveries. Clay, Jackson and Johnson counties require wearing facemasks in public.
Missouri has recorded nearly 25,400 COVID-19 cases and nearly 1,100 deaths, ranked among 32 states where the number of cases rose versus last week and notched a state record 773 new cases Tuesday. Nationally, deaths have passed
Nationally, deaths have passed 131,000 and cases topped 3 million Wednesday, with more than 50,000 new cases reported on July 3 and again July 4. Some suggest cases could reach 100,000 per day.
